Carl presided over the Sekts, while Eva discusses the still wines. What a lovely estate, and what a generous family.

Pretty pink aromatics. Like roses and pink flowers. This is a high quality rose. Shows some elegance. Quite lovely, with a little softness. 18 hours skin contact. Nice.

I guess this is a new wine? This is not a field blend like in Vienna. 50% GV, 25% Riesling, and 25% Weissburgunder. Prerrt, savory aromatics with white flowers and spices. Lovely, with lots of savory notes. Very savory, White fruit. Well balanced. I'd really like this if it's around $20.

Intense Gruner aromatics. Round and ripe. This is fine. It's not very exciting, but serviceable, I suppose.

Much more interesting aromatics than the Grunschnabel. Classic Gruner. Nice ripeness, with lots of fruit. A very nice Gruner.

More herbal notes than the '23. Turns savory on the palate. Pushes GV in a new direction with the intense savory notes. Lots of structure, but also elegant. Very intense, and this deserves a wow!

Yellow fruit on the nose, especially as compared to previous wines. Very delicious, and intense. Fuller bodied than regular bottlings. High quality, lovely Gruner. This could age. 90-91

Salt and pepper on the nose. Rich, and intense. Yellow fruit. This doesn't have the freshness of the Loisium. It's still terrific though!

Very bright, fresh aromatics, even as compared to the more recent vintages of the regular bottlings. Intense, explosive flavors. I'd put this up against some Burgundies. It's that stunning. Amazing expression of Gruner. 93+

Lots of yellow fruit, almost into corn territory on the nose. Jesus, this is intense though. It really hits you. Finish just keeps going... White pepper, yellow fruit, Lovely, beautiful GV. Silly to say, because this is so good, but I prefer the '21. 92+

Intense, lovely aromatics. Very intense on palate. Savory. Did I say intense? Wow, this is so delicious. Struggling... to... describe... just so damn good.

Red delicious apple on nose. Lovely aromatics. Intense, ripe, dry, quite beautiful. Very nice entry level Riesling.

Intense red delicious apples. Very bright, this sort of uncoils on the palate and you just enjoy the layers. Wow. 92+

This is more citrus than the Steinhaus. It really has some textural weight. Very intense, and amazing wine. Gorgeous Riesling. 93+

Very ripe fruit. It's beautiful, but I'm these great Riesling's are making me a little nit picky, as I like some of the other ones a little better.

Very fresh. More linear than the other Riesling, in a good way. Intense and has that wow factor. 92+

Loads of apricots. Unbelievable. Just so much, but the acidity is there. Special stuff.

A lot of wines, and that doesn't even include the Wermuts, fortified wine, and a couple more TBA's that I don't remember the vintage but were amazing. Truly a special place to visit.

Fresh, with Gruner aromatics, that makes you want to keep taking a sniff. It's so fresh and lively. I really love how the flavors and even essence of Gruner are all through this, but it's still a high quality sparkling wine. Really cool stuff. 91-93

I believe this is called Brut Reserve in the US. Richer aromatics. Yellow apples on the nose. This is really nice, but it's so cool to get the purity of the grape on the other wines, which makes me not as excited about this. It's quality Brut sparkling wine.

Wow, this is Sauvignon Blanc, through and through, even with some slight herbal elements. Very fresh and lively. I'm not sure if I like this as much as the Gruner and Riesling, but it might be more fun, because of the explosive SB flavors and aromatics.

Richer, fuller style from the regular bottling. Apples, and this has a terrific, creamy texture. This is fuller, and heavier than the regular bottlings. I'm not sure the price makes sense to me in relation to sparkling wine, but it's pretty cool stuff. 92+

More Champagne like? In the bready and oxidation notes that are present. It's fun and different in the context of these other wines. It seems odd in this line up, but I guess that's the point.

White flowers and citrus. Super fresh and floral. This is really fun, but it's also $35-40 in the US, and I'm not sure there's really a place for it at that price.

And then this got opened! It's been down in the cellar for almost 50 years. What I find fascinating is they were just making wine back then, I'm not sure how much focus on quality there was, but obviously someone cared, because this white wine was still alive. A little musty, but then that blows off. Mostly savory, not a lot of fruit, but in balance, and quite interesting. I thought this was really cool. Would have liked to spend more time with it, but Carl demanded I move on to the next wine!
