Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • NV Sylvie Moreau Champagne Racines 92 Points

    France, Champagne

A blend of 50% Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, base vintage 2019 (60%), réserve perpetuelle 40%, disgorged 14 December 2023 with a dosage of 4.8 gr/l. Lovely Meunier generosity, spices and fruit, added complexity from the réserve perpetuelle, vibrant mousse and energetic minerality, very good length.

  • 2022 Marcus Hees Riesling Steingewann 91 Points

    Germany, Nahe

Juicy fruit, slightly reduced, crisp acidity (TA 8.1 gr/l) and spicy slate, floral notes, light on its feet, clear and precise, stony minerality, rounded off by just a whiff of sweetness (RS 4 gr/l), good length. Exemplary Gutswein. Although it feels weird to be paying €68 for a wine that’s €9.90 at the cellar door.
