  • 2022 Zurab Topuridze Khikhvi

    Georgia, Kakheti

    GRAPE/BLEND: 100% Khikhvi, planted in 2015
    SOIL: Teliani appellation. Soil is stony alluvium, brownish grey, with sandy loam and calcium content (PH 8.5). Gentle slope (3%), exposure to south-east.
    MACERATION/FERMENTATION: 5 days on crushed grape must (skins, seeds, and stems), then removed and juice continued fermentation.
    Fermentation length approx. 1 month in Qvevri

    GRAPE/BLEND: Saperavi 100%
    SOIL: Teliani appellation. Soil is stony alluvium, brownish grey, with sandy loam and calcium content (PH 8.5). Gentle slope (3%), exposure to south-east.
    MACERATION: few berries used and removed after 2 week
    FERMENTATION: after maceration juice continues fermentation approximately 1 month in Qvevri
    MATURATION PERIOD: lees removed after fermentation and maturation continued 11 months until August bottling.

    WINEMAKING: Two week of skin contact before being pressed. Fermented and aged in Qvevri for 8/9 months. Bottled in may/june. 13.80%
    Med intensity, smashed almond notes, very concentrated, sour cherry and black currants, boiled meat/gamey notes.
    Palate showing black fruit again, co2 hints, med body, tight tannins, weird and not in a good way

  • 2022 Ori Marani Revoir un printemps

    TERROIRS: Lamiskana (Kartli), Rupoti (Imereti), Vartsikhe (Imereti) Chokataouri (Guria)
    GRAPE/BLEND: 50% Tsitska from Terjola, 20 % Chkhaveri from Guria, 30% Aladasturi from Vartsikhe.
    WINEMAKING: Tsitska was harvest the 1st of October and was direct pressed, fermentation took place in Qvevri and old French oak.
    Aladasturi was picked on the 14th of October and was direct pressed, fermentation took place in barrels.
    Chkhaveri was harvested the 22th of November and fermented on skins for 12 days in Qvevri then was racked to an old barrel.
    The final blend was aged both in Qvevri and old oak barrel. The wine was bottled unfined with a minimal amount of So2. Qvevri went through a coarse filtration.

  • 2022 Ori Marani Saperavi Nita

    TERROIRS: Khashmi Village | Sagarejo municipality | Kakheti region 700m altitude
    GRAPE/BLEND: Saperavi from Khashmi.
    Harvested the 18th of September
    WINEMAKING: Meticulous sorting at the winery, before adding whole clusters directly in Qvevris, with an addition of pressed juice.
    Fermentation and maceration for around 14 days with indigenous yeasts.
    The wine has been racked to old French oak barrel and Qvevri to achieve malolactic fermentation and age slowly for another 6 months.
    The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered with a minimal amount of So2.

    LOCATION: Village Samtavisi, Kartli Region
    SOIL: Hard Clay mixed with Limestone + red Granite
    GRAPE/BLEND: 70% Chinuri, 30% Shavkapito
    WINEMAKING: 700 ltr qvevri - 450ltr direct press Chinuri 220kgs of whole clusters of Shavkapito is added(semi carbonic) Slow Maceration 60 days - extra aromas of the Shavkapito - 3 months with the skins 10 days stainless steel
