Introduction

Very kind of Mark to invite me to this trade tasting - surprisingly it was absolutely rammed so I ran out of time and patience (I was already on a tight schedule)

  • 2021 Poggio Landi Rosso di Montalcino

  • 2020 Donne Fittipaldi Bolgheri

    Italy, Tuscany, Bolgheri

Low intensity aromas don't really show much at all, a little dark fruit and oak. In the mouth it's very tannic indeed, little licking a plank, perhaps time (as in years) will help but meh today.

  • 2020 Tenuta Meraviglia Bolgheri Rosso

    Italy, Tuscany, Bolgheri

Sangiovese in the blend (?) offers red cherry, there is also blackcurrant, touch of plum but quite fresh smelling. And so it proves on the palate; juicy and fleshy, similar fruit profile, tannins are a little coarse though integrated. Nice

Closing

Great to see the Holm Oak and a few of the wines that we offer at the store. That Kilikanoon Oracle from magnum was a thing of beauty...
