  • 2015 Argyros Assyrtiko French Oak Fermented

    Greece, Aegean, Cyclades, Santorini

    magnum botte via coravin, 13.50%
    The wine shows ripe citrus fruit, walnut, almond, strong oak profile, toasted notes, overripe citrus notes next to stone fruit notes, quince marmelade.
    Palate with immense strength, undeniably Santorini if given blind, high acidity, saltied roasted almond, med to full body, lime acidity, long finish.

    France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray

    Fresh, citrus, some dry herbal notes, quince, nice carbonation, nutty frame, walnut, nice body, fresh, med finish.
    A wine for food, nice

  • 2023 Domaine Roxane Matsa Syrah

    Greece, Continental Greece, Attica

    1st vintage of the new era for this historic winery
    The wine shows juicy, fruit forward profile, black fruit, cherry, berry, some floral notes.
    Palate is very smooth, juicy, a bit of herbal bitterness, a touch warm but it is highly drinkable, a nice party wine and the most "aussie" Syrah made here

  • 2021 Kappa Winery Liaisón du Village

    Greece, Macedonia, Imathia

    Heavy handied in oak, spice notes, planky notes, wood varnish, red fruit way in the back.
    Palate follows the same pattern, very dry, some red cherries but mostly oak and alcohol, med finish

  • 2023 Domaine Roxane Matsa Savatiano

    Greece, Continental Greece, Attica, Pallini

    More balanced than Laoutari or Malagousia labels, half herbal half fruit, low intensity.
    Palate shows a more vibrant profile, med body, lime with some tropical fruit way in the back, med finish

  • 2023 Domaine Roxane Matsa Malagousia

    Greece, Continental Greece, Attica, Pallini

    More herbal than fruity, underripe citrus fruit, lemon peel, bitter palate, the wine shows a bit more fruit but still its very green, med body, med finish

  • 2023 Kourtesis Wine Estate Rosé

    Greece, Aegean, Cyclades

    Andros island, a blend of Mandilaria, Muscat and Potamisi
    Onion-like color, a bit confused in the nose, there are a few Muscat notes covered up in peach and apricot bits.
    Palate showing low acidity, med body, peach and pineapple dominated palate but with high so2, med finish.
    Altogether its not pleasant

    Vertzami grapes from the island of Lefkada sent to vinify at Gaia winery, 18 months in oak, 1200 bottles, 13%
    Strong oak influence, chocolate bits, warmth, VA notes, wood varnish, dried black fruit, prunes, figs.
    Palate follows the same pattern, aggressive, alcohol heat, med tannins, med body, short caustic finish
