Introduction
We were with 14 and had to bring a very special white and red wine each and fully covered. Our host invited a professional chef to prepare supper. We were asked to uncork the wines at home before coming to the tasting. Our hosts wife poured all the wines, so all wines were tasted fully blind.

Thank you John and Angelique for hosting this superb tasting. It was a dream tasting! Unfortunately the two German wines performed, like their soccer team at the European championships; below expectations. All other wines were in pristine condition.
2014 Siret Frère et Soeur Champagne Grand Cru Millésimé Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Côte des Bar 93 Points

The bouquet is a bit smoky. On the palate minerals, some maturity, focused, nicely dry and elegant. Really nice bubble.

Some medicine/clove, good and fresh acidity, beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness and a great length. Still very youthful and fresh. Delicious Champagne.

Beautiful and complex bouquet. On the palate minerals, ripe fruits, fresh acidity, full bodied and a great length. Great and complex wine which is still in its youth.

Crustacean in the bouquet as well as on the palate, minerals, a firm amount of good and fresh acidity, great length and a bit sticky in the finish. Complex and really beautiful.

Yellow fruits and a firm dose of oak in the bouquet and on the palate. Quite intense with good acidity, ripe yellow fruits, oak and a firm amount of sweetness. Very good wine which is ready now.

Beautiful bouquet with minerals. On the palate a bit musty, but with some earth and a good balance between acidity and sweetness. Full bodied. The wine was not in a perfect drinking condition, so I don’t score it.

Minerals and gun flint in the complex bouquet. Same on the palate, good and fresh citrus, beautifully focused. Full bodied and elegant at the same time. Still in its youth, but drinking beautifully already.

Beautiful and complex bouquet with toast, oak and minerals. On the palate the same impressions, ripe yellow fruits, full bodied and concentrated, enormous length. Complex and luxurious wine with good freshness. Still very youthful.

Quite mature bouquet with autumn impressions. Same on the palate, a lot of sweetness and sweet chocolate and spices. The acidity is still pleasant, but it is probably wise to drink your bottles soon if you still have any.

Very beautiful and luxurious, mature bouquet. On the palate autumn forest, black berries, beautifully dosed oak and cedar, juicy acidity, full bodied, elegant and complex. Amazing how powerful this wine still is. This bottle was fully mature and will not improve anymore, but will probably stay on the same level for several years. Great to taste again!

Very ripe fruits and cherries in the bouquet. On the palate ripe dark and red berries, good acidity, soft tannin and a firm dose of sweetness. Modern style Bordeaux which is fully mature now and still a great pleasure. Don’t wait many more years, but no great hurry either.

Smoky bouquet with fresh forest impressions and dark berries, sweet spices, cedar, lead pencil and simply magical nose. On the palate dark berries, licorice, chocolate, beautiful acidity and a nice amount of sweetness, round and soft tannin, a great length and so much future in this wine. Classical and enchanting. I score it 99, so I have one point left when the wine enters its maturity stage. So happy to have had this in my glass this evening!

Beautiful and elegant bouquet with dark berries and well dosed oak. The wine melts on the palate with ripe dark berries, lovely acidity and elegance. Great length. A great wine in its very youthful but already so delicious stage.

Luxurious, complex and smoky bouquet with dark and some red berries, graphite and beautiful oak and cedar. On the palate the same impressions, beautiful acidity and tannin. The wine is at its peak now with still room for some more cellaring. Just wonderful.
