Introduction
Inspired theme, we were talking about female winemakers during a Burgundy dinner...and this came about! > SGD250 which made it much harder. There are so many female winemakers out there making great wines in a male-dominated industry, so hats off to what they've achieved, and how they're continue to scale new heights.

I enjoyed all the wines - they all had personality, while being classic to the region/villages.
2012 Françoise Bedel Jouvence 90 Points

I enjoyed this champagne, guessed pinot dominant as it had red fruit, characteristics, palate was round and rich. More distinctive than Bedel's other cuvees.

2020 Les Horées Bourgogne-Aligoté En Coulezain 94 Points

This was fantastic, a real surprise to discover it was aligote! Just shows how great lesser known varietals can be in the hands of good makers.
Great balance of lean-ness and minerality on the palate, combined with a interesting nose of nuts, smoke and tropical/candied fruit that reminded some of Jura. Finish is a little short, but otherwise a vibrant, energetic wine. My WOTN for whites.

2015 Caroline Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées 89 Points

Old school white Burg with pronounced nose of butter and vanilla, palate of white peach, full and textural. A bit rich for me.
Surprised this was Caroline Morey, as those I've had previously don't have such strong oak influences.

2020 Caroline Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées 92 Points

Very different from the 2015 - much less oak and more representative of Caroline Morey's style.
Ripe peach and melon on the nose, hint of yeast. Palate is even better, intense lemon curd and minerals. Great finish. Surprised how ready 2020 is drinking.

2018 Domaine Anne Gros Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau 89 Points

A pretty nose, floral and ripe strawberry, which led me to Chambolle. A bit hollow on the palate, fruit wasn't enough to balance the high acid. Still a good wine.

2002 Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc 92 Points

This has aged beautifully, with its years adding on richness. Yellow peach and apricot nose, tertiary flavours of hazelnuts. Still got lots of tension and freshness on the palate.

2016 Jean-Marc Millot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots 94 Points

Jean Marc Millot does it again. There's an edginess to the nose: some call it barnyard, but it reminded me of forest floor after rain, earthy and damp in an invigorating way. Intermingled with sour cherry and sweet spice.
Great acid structure, tannins are present yet not overwhelming. Millot has achieved depth and lightness at the same time.

2018 Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferrand Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes 94 Points

Wow, didn't expect this to be Claire Naudin or NSG, as I've only had her entry-level wines.
Super ripe nose, dark plum and stewed blackberry, with savoury notes. Density and structure made us think Grand Cru, yet it had great balance and wasn't "big". Very long finish. Made sense that it was a warm vintage.

Expected a bit more from Barthod, first time having her wine. This didn't quite make an impression: bright cherry and forest floor, hint of barnyard.

Distinctive Italian nose of tea leaf and sour cherry, some oxidative notes as well, showing its age. Fresh palate with polished tannins.

2010 Château Haut-Bailly 88 Points

Correctly guessed Bordeaux, cab sauv dominant. The graphite made me think Paulliac or Pessac-Leognan. Dark fruits and generous dose of oak, though tannins have toned down a bit.
Too young and big for my like, especially since it's a warm vintage.
