From vineyards in and around the village La Aguilera, ancient vines, mainly Tempranillo with other varieties such as Bobal and Garnacha, organic viticulture, low yields, whole bunch vinification in concrete, aged in French oak for 35 months, 14% ABV. Brief decant to soften the firm tannins, which have a wonderfully velvety texture and are neither sticky nor grippy. Opens up well in the decanter and in the glass, powerful but restrained, elegant and harmonious, ripe but fresh acidity enveloped in flesh, barely visible oak, excellent length. Already drinking well, should be on a plateau of maturity from 2030-2050.
