White starter and then blind tasing, revealed 1x1
Closing
Groups WOTN was the 1994 Quintarell (11pts), followed by the 16 Tignanello (9pts), followed by the Brancaia and Cerette (tied for 3rd with 4 points).
I threw in the Alto Moncayo to see if it was dead - it drank surprisingly well. For QPR, the Scacciadiavoli Sagrantiono was excellent. Scores above are not impacted by QPR.

Maybe needed longer decant? Guessed Super Tuscan with "Bordeaux" varietals.
Much different than last bottle tasted in Fall 2023 (loved, loved, loved that bottle - rated 95+)

Poor notes at this stage. On nose, caramel, tobacco, tart cherry. On palate, younger fruit than nose suggested with chocolate, dark cherry and other savory notes. High acidity, high tannins and very long finish. My WOTN and tied with the Brancai Ilatra for #3 slot.

Ringer in a Italian Tasting (tasted blind)
Stood out vs. Italian Wines. I last tasted this in '14 and didn't like it. I just left this to assess if Parker was crazy with his drinking window (CT window was through 2015). My notes were poor but this drank much better than expected. Cinnamon, sweet cherry and plum on nose / palate. Full body, integrated tannins, low acidity and long finish. 93+
