(Tasted Blind): Mid garnet colour, there is some development here with a bouquet of smoke, ripe dark fruits, liquorice, and aniseed—a lovely persistence to the aroma.
The palate is elegant and lifted, with elements of lavender and wild fennel balanced against a lively fresh acidity and some extract, giving a base for the firm dense tannins. With an inky profile, the wine displays excellent concentration, and whilst there is some warming alcohol, it remains balanced and maintains its elegance through to the extended finish.

(Tasted Blind): Mid ruby colour. Very ripe fruits on the nose with leather, hung game and raw meat, and a hint of feral, almost bacterial qualities. A funky palate with animal fur and a game behind which some blackberry is looking for attention.
The tannins are firm and blocky; the alcohol feels noticeably high, and the acidity whilst there doesn't balance the hot finish.
Sweet and extracted, the wine is going in the wrong direction.

(Tasted Blind): Deep ruby colour. There is a slight reduction at first with a crayon note, but then the more shiraz-y style comes forward with ripe blackberry, furniture polish, and raisin. A rich, full-bodied entry, the wine has breadth and power with a decent concentration. It is generous with a spiky alcohol and, plenty of spices and dried black fruit with medium acidity. It pulls it off successfully as a powerhouse with sweet, succulent tannins, providing a large steak was present! Finishes long and surprisingly balanced with more complexity than the other examples so far.

(Tasted Blind): Deep ruby colour, lifted, attractive dark fruit, reasonably intense aromas of blackberry compote, spice, and apricot halves.
With an elegant succulent palate structure, there is a lively acidity and a better mid-palate depth than some of the wines. I liked the concentration that gave layers to the fruits. As before, the fruit is warmer with dried orange peel semi-dried blackberries amplified by generous alcohol, giving a glycerol texture. Fortunately, the lively acid and dense cocoa powder tannins help offset it being too top-heavy. Slightly drying on the finish, with plenty of spice cake arriving at the close. Long finish, smart wine.

(Tasted Blind): Mid ruby colour. Very ripe fruit aromas with garrigue, fynbos, mineral and wildflowers. Touch of pepper.
An elegant wine with some depth and a fair extract, this wine is more delicate than the previous, with attractive notes of wild lavender, garrigue, roast meat, and a slight eucalypt coolness. The alcohol is still present but not overly generous. It is framed by granular, puckering tannins that extend nicely to a medium-long finish. As the wine sat in glass, it opened up more, revealing greater complexity but did show a touch of bitterness.
