Introduction
One of the most interesting line-ups that I've had for some time, featuring some producers that I've been meaning to try. Part of a croissant-lympics to find the best croissant in Singapore.
2018 Marie Demets Champagne 'La Foret' Extra Brut 93 Points
France, Champagne
Green apple-driven, saline and mineral but overall a rounder, weightier BdB rather than a racy one. First time trying this producer and very impressed.

2013 Dehours Champagne Brut Millésimé 88 Points
France, Champagne
2/3 Meunier, 1/3 Chardonnay from Brisefer. Disgorged Nov 2020, 2.3g/l dosage. Natural, oxidative, yeasty, and austere at the same time. Not very coherent.

NV Pascal Henin Champagne Grand Cru Blanc Comme Neige Extra Brut 93 Points

No information on the back label, apparently the information was on the cork. Much better freshness and more green-fruited than the Foret. Toasty but no oxidative notes, much more up my alley.

NV Chartogne-Taillet Champagne Cuvée Sainte Anne 93 Points
France, Champagne
Mostly 2021 base, disorged Aug 2023, 2.5 g/l dosage. This cuvee is always a winner, even with the difficult vintage. Fresh citrus fruit, balanced with a restrained roundness that I always find in his wines. My favourite entry-level along with Bereche.

2017 A. Bergère Champagne Les Peignottes Chardonnay Extra Brut 89 Points

My contribution, generous gift from Phil that I brought back from France. 100% Chardonnay, zero dosage, disgorged Mar 2022. Quite puzzling to me, rather rich and red-fruited for a BdB, with toasty notes from the oak use. Stylistically this was an outlier among the leaner grower champagnes in the line-up today, some liked this a lot but wasn't my cup of tea. Preferred the 2012 that I had in Epernay that was a lot more linear and focused but fans of richer, oxidative champagnes will like this.

2020 Domaine de Bichery Champagne La Source Brut Nature 92 Points
France, Champagne
Blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with a touch of Meunier, disgorged April 2023. Natural leaning with a lactic note but not too over-the-top, good purity and energy to the red fruit, the Meunier made its presence felt with some roundness on the finish. First time trying this producer and quite impressed.

NV Étienne Calsac Champagne Les Revenants 93 Points
France, Champagne
50% Pinot Blanc, 45% Petit Meslier, 5% Arbane. Zero dosage, disgorged Jul 2022 (so I presume 2019 base). Liked this a lot more than the 2018 base that I tried two years ago. Round texture but with a serious structure. Zesty citrus and red raspberry fruit, lovely balance to this despite the zero dosage. No jagged edges here.
