Aromatic, fumey nose, nutty, petroleum, oranges. Mature. Medium bodied, nutty, spicy, slightly burnished, some nice breadth, fresh acids, good length finish. This bottle fully mature.

Aromatic and extremely complex, with grapefruit, hay, cream and smoky mineral. Medium/full bodied, grapefruit again, spice, cream, lovely weight, some grassy notes, cut through with lovely vibrant, even crisp acidity, very long. Gorgeous!

Dark fruited, quite rich nose, blackcurrant, liquorice. Medium/full bodied, rich black-toned fruit, spice, some firm tannins still unresolved, decent length. Perhaps needs a few more years.

5/12. This has a lovely, mature nose - smoky, gamey, with underlying red fruits. Medium bodied, red and some black fruit, game again, notes of leather soft tannins, some soil on the good length finish. Drinking well for me though no hurry of course.

Lovely nose with tobacco, smoke, leather, some blackcurrant fruit. Medium bodied, cool dark fruit, spice, smoky mineral - classic claret - tobacco again, soft tannins, fresh acids, great length. Perhaps tired a touch after an hour or so showing some toffeed notes but lovely, mature claret. Drink up.

This shows blackcurrant, smoke, vanilla, cedar, a touch of leafiness. Medium bodied, quite sleek almost lean, cedary dark fruit, fresh acids, decent length slightly spare finish. Attractive though if very much in a leaner ‘96 type style,

Lovely, mature Graves nose, blackberry fruit, smoke, mineral. Warm bricks! Medium/full bodied, smoky dark fruit, spice, still with a firm but fine tannic spine, but plenty of covering fruit, fresh acids, good length, grippy finish. Excellent, certainly drinking but still probably on upslope.

Slightly reserves nose with blackberry, spice, some smoky mineral. Medium/full, blackberries again, smoky gravelly notes, rich fruit over still slightly furry tannins, fresh acids, good length. Needs time but should be excellent

Again slightly reticent but showing some gorgeously pure blackcurrant fruit, cedar, spice. Just a touch of mineral. Medium/full bodied, again lovely pure black fruit on initial entry, deep, palate staining, deep, cedar notes, fir, but fine tannins, vibrant acids, long, long finish. Still needs time but this should be outstanding.
