  • 2022 Cambria Chardonnay Katherine's Vineyard

USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Maria Valley

Medium minus intensity aromas are, like the Brewer Clifton, meaty and savoury but joined by some orchard fruit and a little smoked bacon fat. • 2023 Shaw and Smith Pinot Noir

  • 2021 Nanny Goat Pinot Noir Super Nanny

New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago

Crikey! This is a bit Porty no the nose after the other three Pinot Noirs; extracted black fruits are non delineated, lashings of vanilla and caramel oak. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity which stops this from being too soupy but it's quite 'bitter oak water with a couple of spoonful's of black fruit jam'. There is some alcohol warmth but it's integrated and helps carry the wine long on the finish.

In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity, slightly baked cherry fruit. Tannins are tight and drying though surprisingly lightly textured - a raw silky rasp, a touch short; alcohol warmth is all that is left.
