Friends had the cheeky idea to do a CB x CB lunch. Loved the pairing. Arnaud Lambert is a rising star, I enjoyed the Chenins tremendously and even the Cab Francs, though it's one of my least preferred grapes.

Entry level. Mineral and nectarine. Lees is evident with the yeasty note. Easy drinking.

Honey and white flowers on the nose. On the palate: lemon with a touch of sweetness. A broad palate - 14%.

Typical chenin notes of bruised apple and honey, some acacia. Nice acidity that cuts through the fruit richness.

Sweet peach and bruised apple on the nose. Buttery texture. The most luxurious of the whites.

My favourite of the whites. Great elegance, acidity balanced with the rich texture. Similar to the ripe stone fruit nose of the Coulee-de-St-Cyr. Superb long finish.

Fruit forward: wild strawberry and ripe cherry, floral with the typical green stemminess of cab franc. Quite elegant. More accessible than the Tue Loup.

Barnyard, dark fruits and smoke, something wild. Some said it was too barnyard, but I thought it was the right dose. Evolved to more red and dark fruits. Complex and intense, wonder how it will age. Really enjoyable now.

My extra. A richer style: Round, yeasty and mineral. Toast, light strawberry and apple. Acid is quite mellow. Felt it lacked focus.
