Ibiza Restaurant Chappaqua

Mark G brought a bunch of us together for this year’s iteration of the over the top lunch. The meal at Ibiza was wonderful, wines plentiful.
Personal WOTN’s for me: 82 Cheval Blanc, Montille Malconaorts and 70 Unico. Lots of wine probably would have benefited from more air or a smaller group with larger pours to follow over more time. biggest surprise may have been the 2009 Auslese at the end.
2008 Roses de Jeanne / Cédric Bouchard Champagne Inflorescence Blanc de Noirs Côte de Val Vilaine
France, Champagne
disgorged April 2010. Old name for the Val Vilaine. Loads of spice, acid still quite present. The fruit has fallen off a little, but this has settled in quite nicely as it ages.

gorgeous, strawberry, lovely reds. Creamy, light. Delicious.

2007 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Rosé Brut
France, Champagne
dark color. Really really tight. Warms up a little and darker red fruits, not a ton of acid on the finish, drinking decently open.

1996 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut
France, Champagne
tight on pnp. Really round feel, some vanilla, brioche, lemon curd. Similar to other bottles, still a bit of a baby.
