Lovely expression of Champagne. The emphasis is on balance and refinement, with cream, biscuit, minerality, and supple texture. Great value.

2023 Dicey Pinot Gris 90 Points
New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Bannockburn
Superb Pinot Gris Textbook varietal character. Rich, but not overbearing. Stonefruit, wet stone and a lovely floral element. Powerful structure. Drinking very well now, but this obviously has the stuffing to age well.

2023 Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 89 Points

As per normal, an exquisite rendition of SB, and a fine example of the vintage. Gooseberry, grass, earth, intense but supple acids. Very classy.

2010 Château la Bienfaisance Sanctus 91 Points

Drunk after five more years of bottle age (and consumed with a complex and rich venison dish, this feels modern, opulent, expressive of place, and not as rough on the palate as it did in 2019. Opulent black Doris plum skin, a touch of cedar, lots of oak, which is beginning to integrate. It has power, and some finessse, but will always be a rich, ripe and structured example fo St. Emilion. Could benefit from a few more years, I think. Absolutely improving with time.
