Tropical bouquet with yellow fruit, apricots, mango, starfruit and hazelnuts. Lovely on the nose with good concentration. Palate similarly tropical with slightly oxidative tones, a little lean and one dimensional for my preference and would have been easily overlooked if drank on its own. However, this paired lovely with the grilled octopus so props to that.

  • 2021 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Sauvignon Blanc Poggio alle Gazze Toscana IGT 89 Points

Familiar bouquet but didn't quite pick it out as SB. Felt like it could have been a new world but cool climate chardonnay. Bouquet thin and unexciting but palate seemingly more interesting - a fun pre-dinner drink for sure.

Pnp'ed. Bouquet dark and reserved with some vosne like spice, dark plums and sandalwood, palate initially tight and sturdy but blossomed in glass towards violets, dark berries, licorice and sage. There is some signature elegance and sensuality here, good concentration and balance although I would certainly keep these away for another 10 years minimum.
