I must have been having an alcohol warmth day - everything felt too hot; the whites were from the fridge and about 15C.
2023 Wild Folk Pinot Noir
Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Yarra Valley
Jubey, pretty cherry fruit, slightly savoury underpin. Juicy, black tea tannins are a touch tight, alcohol warmth intrudes a little, fruit is a little flat. Nice nose.

2022 Wild Folk Nero d'Avola Natural
Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Medium minus intensity aromas of slightly sour smelling plums, dusty spices and a little peppery alcohol prickle. Juicy, slightly jammy plummy black fruit, soft tannins, simple, balanced. Not bad.

2022 Wild Folk Natural Touriga

Wild ferment, slightly meaty, muted black hued fruits are in the plum adjacent area (whatever that means). Juicy though though it almost feels like there is some residual sugar here, soft tannins, plenty of alcohol warmth, feels disjointed. Nah.

2022 Domaine Albert de Conti Bergerac Sec Cuvée des Conti
France, Southwest France, Dordogne, Bergerac Sec
Apple, gooseberry, a little creamy lees, slight white flowers, a little oak spice...a sense of richness...In the mouth it's initially juicy and fruity, creamy and quite rich but the alcohol warmth is quite intrusive and, though it lends fatness to the mid palate the heat on the finish is quite off-putting for me.

2020 Weinrieder Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben
Austria, Niederösterreich, Weinviertel
A little peach, grapefruit, touches of fruit lozenge. Like the Bergerac this presents a sense of richness, a little roasted pineapple. Fleshy and generous on the palate, perhaps a touch of residual sugar to help lift the fruit, a little textured burr and plenty of alcohol warmth on the finish. Woof.

2019 Château La Lagune Moulin de la Lagune
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
Slightly jammy plums over brambles, a little blackcurrant and cedar, touch of forest floor/undergrowth. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, savoury tending to bitter fruits area a little baked. Tannins are woody and drying, alcohol warmth intrudes a little on the finish with a touch of black liquorice. Not for me.
