My first WSW and it's really classy stuff. Nose has a little Grape Nut cereal maltiness with some confit lemon. With air there are some walnuts, a hint of barley sugar and some chamomile. After an hour in the glass some hints of ginger too.

2018 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis 1er Cru Séchet 92 Points

Lovely multi-layered nose with confit lime, butterscotch popcorn and some white flowers. Palate is beautifully balanced with some lemon barley water, a touch of crème pat and just a hint of oyster shell. Not at all boozy as some 2018s have proved to be. Blossoms in the glass.

Bottle 7 of 12. Double decanted an hour or so before broaching. Fascinating nose with bell pepper and cassis at the core with hints of mint, Biscoff crumb and dulce de leche around the edges. Palate is savoury and more-ish with fully resolved tannins. Also really blossoms in the glass with some grated dark milk chocolate some cinders and a touch of coffee and walnut sponge. Gorgeous.

Fabulous wine. Rich, deep nose with layers of perfumed red fruits, tobacco leaf and sandalwood. With air there is gorgeous banana leaf sweetness and some cassis sorbet. Palate is peppery with some rosehip, a touch of aniseed and some bresaola meatiness. Lasts a good 30 seconds on the palate. What a wine; I think this might even improve as those tannins fully resolve over the next decade (although it is joyous today) What a treat.

Hedgerow fruit, tart cherry stone, shaved truffle and Madeira cake jostle for your attention on the nose. With air some dark raspberries and Bakewell tart come to the fore with just a hint of exotic beef consommé. Palate is youthful but showing massive potential with ref fruits and some ground white pepper; lovely acids and melting tannins.
