Introduction
Thirty wines, focusing on four great producers I wanted to introduce to my Chicago friends who enjoy great Burgundy. These were served in 6 or 7 flights through the evening. Great performance by the wines and the restaurant. Plus, a big thank you, Bertrand!

Lean lemon and lemon curd with enough richness in the middle, certainly bright again on finish. Good now.

Subtle floral start, certainly endearing for Aligoté. Bright green apple, lemon, lime throughout with impressive length and balance. Also very good now, some possible further upside in another year or two.

Lean apple and lemon, complex and incredibly bright and energetic. Slightly backward today, but this has very good power. Better from 2029. Alongside the 2022, which was as good but more accessible.

Rich and fleshy orchard and stone fruit with nut butter character. Very good density and weight, while maybe not the most complex 1er Cru ever. Alongside the more backward, but equally good 2021.

Tasted single blind along Chevalier-Montrachet. Broad array of ripe apple flavors and aromas with complex sweet and savory spice box with a faint anise touch I really enjoyed. Still slightly closed in the middle but so much here. Most of us correctly identified this as the 1er Cru, which for me was most clearly shown by the Grand Cru's greater concentration.

Tasted single blind alongside Puligny les Demoiselles. Rich and layered with apple and pear throughout. Great length and so well balanced already, with particularly impressive concentration, which was how I identified this correctly as the Grand Cru. Wonderful now, likely better a few years out.

In 18-21 vertical, I was surprised this was my star of the flight. Enticingly spiced aromas with red fruit galore, with flavors less accessible today but showing off an impressive old vine concentration. This will reward cellar time. I took home the bottle with the final 1/2 glass of wine, and it was wonderfully full and forthcoming the following night. Better now vs when last tasted mid 2022.

A welcome bonus bottle from Philippe, this was slightly out of place served with dessert, making it come across as leaner than its reality, but the richness and length were clearly there to enjoy.
