Introduction
I was looking forward to try the rose and the whites more than anything else in the lineup.
Closing
The blancs fell a little short for me, and Dominus was the surprise for me. The banger of lineup.
NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée Edition 172ème 94 Points
France, Champagne
Nose: Pleasant yellow fruits, gentle aromas of toast, pleasant yeasty notes and good minerals. Stone fruits slowly surface bringing freshness and crispness.
Palate: Much fresher on the palate with crisp and cleaner white stone fruits. Not much toast is discernible on the plate, which is nice. Clean and refreshing minerals help finish off the palate.

2007 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Rosé Brut 95 Points

Nose: Fresh clean strawberries, red apples mixed with fresh red cherries, really clean grass, and clean sparkling minerals.
Palate: More freshness here with clean, washed red apples without being overly tart with the skins. Refreshing on the palate, leaving clean wet river stones on the palate. Great energy without the acidity being noticeable.
Wondering if the age is what makes this seem a little lacking in the acidity. Even though it wasn't where I would've like it to be, this was still fresh (this was chilled so that played a role most likely). I'm thinking the acidity has already begun to soften and integrate by now.

Nose: Tall, clean and fresh grass. I’m not sure if this is the infamous cat pee I always hear about, but I'm picking something up that kinda reminds me of it, or I can see what other people mean when they say they smell it. Dried hay and yellow gooseberries with the leaves still on. It smells like if there are white berries (don't know what kind, or of any kind for that matter), along with something like halved green tomatoes that's also a bit white.
Palate: Very similar to the nose with a clean and fresh lift. There’s a little bit of funk that's new to me, and hard to describe, but it’s not disturbing at all. This funk leans towards the unripe heirloom tomatoes with damp top earth.
Quite unique in style, well, to me at least.

2021 Château Mouton Rothschild Aile D'Argent Blanc 93 Points

Nose: Very gentle popcorn with a bit of deep yellow fruits. Also something subtle like grilled scallops or grilled white fish. Deep earth and grass. The earth has a bit of smokiness as if it was roasted or scorched a bit, like dirt on a really hot day (like today...).
Palate: It's like having tropical fruits with its skin, so you don't have the flavors that are like rough edges such as strong bitter minerals, tartness or funk. Acidity is there but thank goodness for it because this has a bit of heft, almost some creaminess to it.
I wanted some white fish with this for some reason.

2009 Dominus Estate 97 Points

Nose: Dark red, purple and black plums, and the fresh ones too with gentle ripeness. Classy dark fruits, deep earth and a dark graphite. The graphite also carries a bit of bark skin on its back too. Minerals can be found in the earth here.
Palate: Dark brooding fruits here, a touch of rusticity, bitter graphite, minerals and earth. The fruits is nice here, dark but not overripe. Other characteristics keep the fruits in check here, giving a nod to its Bordeaux brethren.
Wow, I see. This was way more different than the younger '13 that bsumoba generously pulled a while back. I often try to remind myself that half bottles age quicker so that might explain the noticeable difference with the flavor profile of something that seemed almost young (this bottling) and the "younger" half bottle of '13 Dominus.

2001 Château Léoville Las Cases 94 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien
Nose: Black and blue fruits, dark earth, graphite and dark minerals. Leans more towards the rustic side. Light cedar and even some fresh menthol.
Palate: Dark red cranberries, the tartness from the cranberries is really turned down (thank goodness and time). Bright graphite and dried, frayed tree bark.
The typical recognizable Bordeaux style immediately. The age doesn’t show immediately but it definitely helped tone a lot of the sharp edges down I’m sure. I usually pop these early if I have them, but with this bottle, I see why it is recommended that it should be aged for 10+ years.. it really tones down that tartness I don't fancy in young Bordeaux.
