Base 2019 disgorged 2022. Citrus, pear, alluring nose, some asparagus, slight grapefruit, fine bubbles, high acid, round med finish with touch of bitterness. A decoy for champagne and a good one.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Opened at 3pm, double decanted at 7, drank about 7.30pm, love the bouquet, airy, red fruited, cherry, lacks a little mid palate, clean and elegant but good acid and finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Opened at 3pm, drank about 7.30pm, beautiful concentration on the bouquet, good stuffing backed with red fruits, elegant, spice, slight torched on the palate with excellent acidity and lovely rounded finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Opened at 3pm drank about 730pm, red fruits, spice, blue fruits, candied, excellent density on the palate but lacks a little acid with lingering finish. Touch of burnt rubber notes, with med to strong tannins.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Opened at 3pm drank about 830pm, beautiful minerality on the nose, red fruits, good depth on the nose and broad on the palate, some forest floor, became candied as it sit in the glass, stylishly similar to the brûlées cuvee tonight but this was more depth.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Open at 3pm, drank about 830pm, denser and dark, earth, savoury, meaty, full on the palate. Good weight but this seems too dark and meaty for my liking.
