Dinner and checking in on some '17 BDXs (and some other fun stuff) with friends. Paired with sliced sausage and crackers. Strong melon on those nose. Light and crisp. A bit of aftertaste. Very nice.
Dinner and checking in on some '17 BDXs (and some other fun stuff) with friends. Double decanted and then back in the decanter for about 50 min before trying. Paired with Ribeye steak, eggplant broccoli, zucchini and potatoes.Atypical Bordeaux nose (woodsy). Heavy mouthfeel. Spice on the palate. Tannins on back of mouth are intense and amazing. Lots of upside on this one.
Dinner and checking in on some '17 BDXs (and some other fun stuff) with friends. Decanted for 90 minutes. Paired with Ribeye steak, eggplant broccoli, zucchini and potatoes. Mint on the nose. Med tannins. Great with the steak. Much darker color than the LCHB. Licorice. Dark fruit. First time I've tried this since sampling at the Chateau - great showing and there's definitely upside on this with more age/air.

Dinner and checking in on some '17 BDXs (and some other fun stuff) with friends. Decanted for a little of 2 hours. Paired with Ribeye steak, eggplant broccoli, zucchini and potatoes. Super expressive nose. Mint and chewing on grass. Red fruit. Lighter bodied than the two BDXs before it. Fresh and light. High acid.

Dinner and checking in on some '17 BDXs (and some other fun stuff) with friends. Decanted at cellar temp for 30 min. Ruby red color color Muted nose. Black cherry on nose. No tannin. Cooler temp had it muted a bit. But then it became more austere with air and as the temp rose. Weird. Really good showing.
