  • 2023 Il Torchio Vermentino Colli di Luni Il Bianco 91 Points

Italy, Tuscany / Liguria, Colli di Luni

Organic viticulture, low intervention wine making, low sulfur. Vermentino with brief skin maceration. It works very well here. Slightly hazy, pale golden colour; lovely nose, salt and apricots, flowers and herbs, whiff of nutmeg; juicy palate with soft acidity, gentle bitters add tension and interest, medium body (12.5% ABV), lovely flavours; dry finish with good resonance and length. I really like this.

  • NV Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten Zaku Kanade-no-Tomo Junmai Ginjo 92 Points

    Japan, Kansai, Mie

Silvery colour; gentle rice sweetness on the nose, mountain air, melon and flowers, juicy and supple, elegant and easygoing, light on its feet in spite of 16% ABV, hint of salt; lighty savoury finish, very good length.
