Quite youthful, elegant, very fruit forward, plush, juicy fruit, the tannins are again youthful showing a bit of edge, warm finish

Much darker in style than Connectable, dense black fruit core, thick oak frame, dark chocolate, coffee notes, tobacco notes, powerful overall, there is also a well hidden pyrazine/vegetal core here.
Palate copies the nose profile, dark fruit, chocolate and black fruit notes, berries and cherries, the tannins are huge but not aggressively so, full body, nice acidity, long finish
A monster of a wine, decanting needed here

The wine shows more red fruit than the Talbot duo tasted before, herbal notes, some floral notes to, sweet spices, nutmeg, easy, welcoming.
Palate is very smooth, juicy tannins, ripe red cherries, currants, powdery texture, a bit warm, med body, med finish

2020 Château Haut-Bailly

52% Cab sauv 42% merlot 3% Cab Fr 3% Petit verdot, 15 months 50% new oak
The grand vin is very different to the 2nd label in the nose. The fruit is darker but also very elegant, chocolate notes, the oak frame is there but not covering the fruit, tobacco notes too.
Palate shows lighter fruit core, more red than black fruit, the tannins are tight and angular for now (funny enough, 2020 Chateau Talbot felt easier), the oak is much thicker and upfront, tight, full body, long finish.
Give it loads of time

2020 Château Montrose

71% cab sauv 23% merlot 5% cab franc 1% petit verdot, 18 months oak 60% new, 40% of total production of the chateau goes into this
The wine shows very dark fruit core, cherry, currant, toast notes, pyrazine notes, minty, offering great freshness, the wine opens up with air and time in the glass.
Palate showing a lot of fruit, equally red and black, the tannins are there biting down but not insanely aggressively so, just very youthful, again pyrazine notes, a thin herbal layer, full body. There is a beautiful sour cherry acidity here adding to its freshness. Tight with long persisent finish.
Give it time.
