  Tasting note:
  Fine herbal aromas of spearmint spice up the fruit of kumquat and gooseberry. Nice intensity with fresh acidity, great tension and mineral finish. Only tasted 2 whites (this + SHL) and Pape Clément was clearly my favorite. An excellent wine and consistently good now for several years.

  Tasting note:
  A more mineral bouquet, especially compared to Pape Clément, with a herbal tea character and add-on’s of mint complementing a gooseberry fruit with a pinch of lychee. Fresh palate for most part, but maybe just a tad flat structure and losing intensity into the finish.

  Tasting note:
  Intense fruit of cherry and raspberry confit, floral notes of violets. Beautifully pure and sweet fruit with add-ons of vanilla and desiccated coconuts. Firm structure with good length and soft tannin. A great effort and likely the best Pape Clément since 2016.

  Tasting note:
  Smoky mineral frame around a red and blue fruit. Graphite, grassy herbs and floral notes of roses. The palate with rather mouthcoating tannin and less aromatic intensity. This might just be off to a closed start fresh in the bottle as the nose was clearly more promising and in this form probably the weakest young SHL Blanc in the last few years. Best to revisit in a 3+ years for a better impression.

  Tasting note:
  Fruit of red and darker cherry, sweet and polished in style. Leathery base and floral top notes. Grippy tannin, but well-balanced with acidity. Maybe a tad overly ripe fruit. Mouthcoating tannin into the finish. This did improve a bit from the barrel it seems, but not more.

  Tasting note:
  Rather extracted, ripe raspberry and cherry fruit with an element of dried fig. Mineral notes of iodine and fresh, green bell pepper. The palate ripe, but with soft tannin which leaves you with a balanced feeling. But the fruit was slightly cooked unfortunately. For me probably the biggest disappointment, especially when compared to the barrel performance – although even there I already flagged an issue with notable heat on the palate.

  Tasting note:
  A nicely perfumed and polished wine. Ripe red and dark cherry fruit with layers of mineral notes and fresh herbs. Palate shines with a solid structure, firm tannin and balanced overall impression. The fruit is again ripe, as I found common for the right bank in this vintage, but not overly extracted and hence well managed.

  Tasting note:
  This came out of the bottle rather muted and closed, but with a nice varied cherry fruit, smoke and mineral notes and spicy herbs. Powerful, quite wild palate with firm and mouthcoating tannin, but balance was clearly there.

  A perfumed bouquet with floral scents and fruit of wild cherries. Felt rather ripe, maybe a tad too ripe even. Additional complexity of herbs, spice and nice mineral notes of iodine. Structured palate with a soft texture and polished tannin. Good acidity into the finish.

  Tasting note:
  Intense with ripe fruit of cherry and brambleberry confit interlaced with supporting notes of herbs, spice, earthy and mineral notes. This is a muscular yet elegant and beautifully layered wine. The juicy palate benefits from a great tannic structure. Powerful and long. But. maybe a tad of heat into the finish as the only point of contention.

  Tasting note:
  Predominantly cherry fruit, sweet and fresh in style. Layers of sweet spice, cooling minerality and green bell pepper. Th palate excels with great balance, fresh fruit and sandy tannin that provide for tactile texture. This was one of the highlights in its completeness as a wine, only surpassed by Lynch Bages at this tasting. Another fantastic vintage, up there with 2016 and 2018.

  Tasting note:
  A scented aroma profile with plenty of cooler, mineral depth. Dark cherry and brambleberry fruit, light cedar wood and peppery spice. On the palate sweet and fresh berry fruit. Humble at first, but intensifying with outstanding balance, soft texture and perfectly ripe tannin . This was the star of the vintage for me and the best fresh in the bottle Lynch Bages I’ve had to date. Continues the trend of ever increasing quality.

  Tasting note:
  Somewhat too ripe with slightly cooked fruit. Otherwise cool mineral notes with add-ons of floral scents and chalk. Nicely juicy palate, soft texture and well-balanced. On the palate the ripeness was less of an issue and actually very palatable and refined.

  Intense nose with plenty of saffron, fruit of quince and tons of honey. Fresher herbal notes, too. Viscous palate and at least for now completely lacks the freshness. Probably needs 10+ years.

  Tasting note:
  Fresher aromas. More spicy and tea-like compared to Suduirant. Candid fruit of apricots and fresh honey. Viscous palate, more honey notes and also lacks freshness at this stage. Unlike Suduirant, the aromatic intensity was not high enough to compensate for the honey and viscosity.
