I only had a small pour of this and I didn't take detailed notes, but I thought this was great. Concentrated, yet precise and elegant. Some toasty, savory notes along with some citrus and yellow fruits. I wish I had another bottle or two.
I think this was my favorite wine of the night. We had this with a Matsutake risotto dish.
I found leathery, floral, spice, orange rind notes. Sturdy but delicate and pretty at the same time. Surprisingly some tannin remaining. Interesting and delicious.
This was popped and poured, but it really needed some air to blow off some funky VA notes on the nose. Initially, there was a sweet, sappy quality to fruit. A lot of cigar tobacco. Some spice and orange rind. This improved with air.
Same bottle as Bob. From Eric's dad's cellar. I found some mushroom on the nose which I enjoyed. Soft texture, with a surprising amount of fruit remaining. As Bob said, a treat.
From magnum. This showed well and youthful. There was a little oak, but I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't more. There was a tart edge to the fruit, but I liked that. Well made. In this format, this will last a long time. I believe this was Eric's WOTN.
I thought this was very good. From .375. Dark color. Sweet but with a bunch of acidity. Not as much depth or concentration as the 76, but this was more energetic and bright. I preferred this one due to the acid.

2008 Hospices de Beaune Corton-Charlemagne Cuvée François de Salins Faiveley (Hospices Auction Group)

I thought the nose was a little weird at first, but that changed with air. Some caramel, salted popcorn. Rich but with nice acid and minerality.
