  • NV Franck Bonville Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut 92 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

Made with 100% Chardonnay from Cramant (2022), Avize (2022) and Oger (2018), disgorged June 2024 with a dosage of 5.8 gr/l. Youthful, yeasty and smoky nose, good ripe fruit, creamy texture, steely acidity is ripe, dosage is well-judged and well-integrated, finish persists well.

  • 2022 Marco De Bartoli Zibibbo Pietranera 91 Points

    Italy, Sicily, Terre Siciliane

Small production, only 3 hectares on north-facing vineyards. Wonderful Muscat aromatics and flavours, light (11% ABV) and fresh with a lovely lemony streak running through it, expansive finish. Delightful

  • 2014 Château des Tours Côtes du Rhône Grande Réserve Blanc 92 Points

France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône

Made from 100% Clairette. Full yellow colour with a golden sheen; rich but fresh nose, spices and honey, deep minerality; full-bodied (14% ABV) palate, fleshy fruit, remarkably steely acidity, lemon juice, rich bitters; complete finish, lemon and honey, Pernod, very good length. Spectacular but not over the top.

  • 2009 Les Cailloux (Lucien et André Brunel) Châteauneuf-du-Pape 93 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Sturdy CdP from a warm vintage, ripe fruit but not overripe, spices, full-bodied but not really big (14% ABV), well structured, lovely freshness and firm sandy tannins, complete finish, warm but not hot, very good length with a hint of mint. Could pass for a 2005 - reminds me of the Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe La Crau from that vintage.
