Introduction

Fun tasting. Really the only bad wine was the Kirwan which I don't ever seeing this evolve into a good wine. Fun times and great food. The Mollydooker was drinking pretty well overall.

Flight 1 (6 Notes)

  • 2013 Rare Champagne 95 Points

    France, Champagne

Delicious with sour apple, chalk, spice, minerals, lemon and dough. Complex offering and long finish. Drink this over Dom all day long.

  • 2012 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape 94 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Better than most clos wines as it is not hot. Garrique, spice, white pepper, raspberries and earth. Balanced and medium plus finish. Favorite red of the night. Goes to show lower rated wines from the critics means wines that are more balanced.

  • 2014 Château Kirwan 88 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

For $50 can get much better. This will never be a good wine. Mild funk, floral, bell peppers and subtle fruit. A light offering.
