Been a while since I crossed paths with a bottle of this; it's very solid and aging very well. Still mostly of a relatively fresh profile, with fruit still prominent. Great intensity, with a chewiness from the minerality and extract that I really like.
A much better bottle of this than my previous; the fruit is more pure and precise, and there's more of a sheen on this bottle, whereas the last one felt like a bit of a dull thud. Red fruit, perfumed, and light. Drinkable now, the way an RdM should be.
Great stuff. These old F. Haag wines are really special bottles. A bit rustic, but with very lovely, clean fruit notes underneath the smoky minerality. Not too sweet, this is very much an old-school, classically styled wine.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Crunch red fruit; par for the course for the vintage. A little more cranberry inflected, but overall quite bright and light. Somewhat leathery tannins on the back end.
An excellent showing at this age. This shows quite some leathery tannins still but the fruit isn't as prominent. Comes across slightly austere, despite its being very much resolved at this point.
I'm told this is basically Dana's Helms. More meaty, ripe, and powerful, with great fruit and more expressiveness than the Conn Creek alongside. The fruit is still quite vibrant, and there's a nice sweetness to it.
Maybe comes across a little more opulent, both in the fruit and oak department. Sweet, with a relatively hidden structure, this is along the lines of a plusher style of pinot. Quite nice all the same.
Easy-going, solid riesling. Very good for the price, plenty of electricity (as promised). Not complex, but light and easy to drink. Kind of like a very lightly sweetened mineral water.
A good showing of this wine; it didn't feel as desiccated as some of my previous experiences. Distinct volcanic minerality, and fruit that's a mix of red and black. Maybe a touch structural still, but I'd still be more inclined to drink this sooner than later.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Third time this year. Lucky me. A very nice bottle, but this didn't have as much fruit as I remembered. More structural, with a pretty large-scaled scaffold to hold the fruit.
Not quite my favourite style of rose -- it's a bit more angular and taut, with some jutting elbows right now. Likely a bottle that could benefit from some time, to smooth out the rough edges.

Creamy, but not too rich and overdone on the palate. Comes across a bit autolytic, but overall still fresh and very enjoyable.

A good bit of volcanic minerality here. None too complex, but a nice breadth and some golden fruit. Light and easy to drink.
