Four of us gathered ahead of the Wilco concert at The Palace in St. Paul (DD, ML, LI, KB). It was a great opportunity to try out the newly renovated and reopened St. Paul instituition, Forepaugh's. It was great to be back in what is a gorgeous old manison that has been exquisitely restored and updated. We had superb service and the menu came off very nicely with many more itmes to venture back and try in the future. The wines were a pleasure heading into a marathon 3 hour plus show by Wilco. This was night 2 of a 3 show engagement with no repeat songs on a given night. It was a blast. Thanks gentlemen!
2014 Bollinger Champagne La Grande Année 94 Points
France, Champagne
Light golden color. Drank a glass plus over an hour. Very bright, green apple, green apple peel, creamy, oak, chalk, quite tangy and long with some citrus on the back end. This was showing nicely again. 94+ to 95pts.

2012 Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. The consensus was there was just a very subtle bit of cork taint on this, nowhere near making it undrinkable. It seemed to move in and out, more on the palate than the nose. The essence was sure there, showing tangerine, Meyer lemon, orange blossom, shellac, oak barrel notes. Not at peak, but still quite tasty - most of the time anyway. Gut impression was still drinking at a 91/92pt level.

1983 Château Rauzan-Gassies 92 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
Dark red color with 1cm bricked edge. Splash double decanted for sediment, drank a glass plus over an hour. Lots of leather, red fruits, medium bodied, dried earth, mulberry, red cherry, spicy, dried leather, dried cherry, soft and fully resolved. I would have preferred not to decant this ahead, and I think it had a better perfume on intially opening it, but with the sediment present it was pretty essential. It would have been nice to do on site though and serve immediately. This is quite nice, but I would not hold for a lot longer.
