pale ruby. expressive with dusty rose, geranium and earth mingling with very pure tart raspberry and sour cherry. medium-body, high acidity, with moderate tannins that make the wine very open. medium finish. good balance
a very drinkable Langhe that may even be suitable for chilling (!!). for early drinking.
14% AbV; from young vines; all-stainless treatment; 40% carbonic fermentation; blended wine matured for four months prior to bottling.
pale garnet. expressive and developing aromas and flavours of drying flowers, fresh raspberry, macerating cherry, liquorice, pepper, and earth. dry, medium-bodied, with high acidity and firm but smooth tannins. already showing some tertiary accents of leather and mushroom on the spiced cherry fruit. good complexity and long finish.
nearly accessible already and drinkable for a decade… with upside potential.
14% AbV; blend from fruit of the three estate vineyards of Marcarini, Montersino and Ferrere; each site was vinified separately in stainless; blended wine matured in large Slavonian botti for twenty-four months; additional ageing in bottle prior to release.
pale garnet. expressive and developing aromas and flavours of fresh and drying rose petals, bright cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and red plum with forest floor, tobacco and spice. dry with medium body, high acidity and riper tannins, the developing fruit has a subtle balsamic character that plays well with the spice and liquorice. very good developing complexity and length.
well-integrated and balanced already, it's drinkable now and capable of further development and improvement.
14.5% AbV; from a "monopole" vineyard with westerly aspect and 60-, 50- and 25-yo vines; all-stainless vinification; matured in Slavonian oak botti for twenty-four months and an additional six in bottle prior to release.
medium garnet. complex and developing aromas and flavours of fresh and tart cherry, red currant, rhubarb and ripe pomegranate infused with dusty white rose, geranium, damp earth and a touch of ash. very expressive in both nose and mouth, it has medium-plus body, high acidity, and soft-textured but firm tannins. finishes long.
well-balanced and complex with flavours that are starting to integrate. drinkable now with a good decant, but one that will develop well with a handful of years of bottle age. upside potential.
15% AbV; from the three plots with southwest aspect the Azienda owns in this famous cru; fermentation in stainless; maturation in a mix of Slavonian oak botti and French oak barriques for twenty four months; additional ageing of six months in bottle.
medium garnet colour. (unsurprisingly) tight. fresh red fruit, herbs, soil, and more oak notes on the nose than the other wines. in mouth it shows good concentration. quasi-full body, high acidity and high tannins that while smooth are very grippy. appears well-balanced and has a long finish with lovely sour cherry, raspberry and strawberry.
impossible to get a good read on it under the conditions… other than this is a wine for the long haul.
15% AbV; 10% whole cluster inclusion during fermentation with more extraction (vigourous cap management and extended maceration); matured in second- and third-use barriques for thirty months; further twelve-month maturation in bottle.
