    The wine shows high intensity, floral notes, more open than last night's bottle (this one was about 1hr open, still no decant), brioche, nutty frame, powerful, broad, shows density, youthful.
    Palate shows vibrant character, high acidity, full body, oak frame, grapefruit, tense, a bit planky though, long finish

  • 2021 Domaine Auguste Clape Saint-Péray

    80% Marsanne 20% Roussanne, 14%
    Bright, pear, floral notes, welcoming, grapefruit notes, white peach.
    Palate is very smooth, light bodied, smooth oaky frame, a touch bitter adding freshness, tense, mineral, some warmth, long finish.

  • 2022 Crystallum Pinot Noir Peter Max

    South Africa, Western Cape

    4 plots, fermented naturally, 10 months in french oak (15% new)
    Pale bright color.
    The wine shows fragrant and ethereal character in the nose, red cherry notes, floral notes, some toast notes, thin oak frame. There is a certain "warmth" but not alcohol, more like earthy.
    Palate shows red fruit, red currant, berry, a touch warm again (14%), spicy, med acidity, mild tannins, med finish
    Beautiful, great value

  • 2018 Quartz Reef Pinot Noir Single Ferment

    New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago Bendigo

    The wine shows fragrant profile, red pure fruit, some sweet spice notes, the red fruit is "colder" (after the warmth of Crystallum Peter Max), there is also a stalky/herbal nuance here.
    Palate shows juicy red and some black cherry fruit notes, whole spice, elevated acidity, very well balanced, med finish
