France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
65% Roussanne 25% Clairette 10% Grenache Blanc, 13.50%, new oak for Roussanne, 1yo oak for Grenache, old oak for Clairette, MLF for Roussanne, ageing in new oak for 10%, 1yo oak for 25%, foudres for 50%, on fine lees with stirring for 10 months -/- The wine shows high intensity, floral notes, more open than last night's bottle (this one was about 1hr open, still no decant), brioche, nutty frame, powerful, broad, shows density, youthful. Palate shows vibrant character, high acidity, full body, oak frame, grapefruit, tense, a bit planky though, long finish
4 plots, fermented naturally, 10 months in french oak (15% new) Pale bright color. The wine shows fragrant and ethereal character in the nose, red cherry notes, floral notes, some toast notes, thin oak frame. There is a certain "warmth" but not alcohol, more like earthy. Palate shows red fruit, red currant, berry, a touch warm again (14%), spicy, med acidity, mild tannins, med finish Beautiful, great value
New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago Bendigo
The wine shows fragrant profile, red pure fruit, some sweet spice notes, the red fruit is "colder" (after the warmth of Crystallum Peter Max), there is also a stalky/herbal nuance here. Palate shows juicy red and some black cherry fruit notes, whole spice, elevated acidity, very well balanced, med finish Very nice
