A blend of Grechetto, Procanico, Pinot Bianco and Viognier. A crisp and fresh wine, aromas of white blossom and citrus fruit, medium bodied palate, juicy orchard fruit, good length. Decent.
Decanted. Still very youthful but approachable with some oxygen, the fruit is opulent and ripe but the wine has a deep minerality which links it to its soil, there is floral lift and the oak delivers rich spicy notes, the palate is firm and concentrated, weighty but well balanced, and the sandy tannins are covered in flesh; the finish is youthfully tight but will no doubt expand with time. More to my liking than the sweeter and stickier Valbuena 5° Año 2019 also drunk recently, but the quality is similar. This is certainly not the lesser wine.
