Flight 1 (1 Note)

  • 2015 Big Table Farm Edelzwicker

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley

From a magnum, served with a chilled with some cheeses. Early in our visit, late afternoon/pre dinner.

From prior notes: "Medium/pale yellow, cloudy. Nose showing peach blossom (of course), white flowers, petrol. Elegant palate of lime, orchard fruits, marinated pears, orange zest, white tea. Medium weight and finish..."

I would say this was still ok but definitely on the decline. Has lost some of the aromatics I recall from last tasting. Something was a bit off in the finish in this bottle. No one complained and we were off to a fabulous Vouvray after this...would drink up

Flight 2 (2 Notes)

  • 2009 Domaine Huet Vouvray Moelleux 1ère Trie Clos du Bourg 95 Points

    France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray

Two bottles opened, first time with a batch bought from Garagiste. Had with some cheeses, bread and nuts pre-dinner. I know this is considered a dessert wine, my preference is as an aperitif with cheeses...

Beautiful deep brass/gold color. Nose of honey, baked peach and apples, floral notes. Palate of apricot, orange marmalade, candied citrus, Botrytis on the mid palate and finish. Full body, long finish.

A lot going on, unique and interesting wine, Take your time with it. Only one bottle left, willneed to replenish
