NV Laurent-Perrier Champagne Cuvée Rosé Brut 92 Points

Another great showing for this rose. Fairly significant creamy strawberry that asserts the rose moniker. Orange, red apple and baking spices. The dosage seems higher.

NV Billecart-Salmon Champagne Brut Rosé 91 Points

2007 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Rosé Brut 95 Points

The nose on this is divine, with strawberry jam, fresh dough and baking spice. Hints of green apple and minerals on the palate. The palate started out slightly bitter but rounded out over 45 minutes as it sat in the glass and warmed, the last sip was the best. Thanks Mike!

2014 Bollinger Champagne La Grande Année 94 Points

From a magnum, this started out lean and young with powerful energy. I let my glass sit for about an hour and was rewarded with a potpourri of flavors, lemon, orange, apple, nutmeg, cinnamon and chalk. Obviously this will be better down the road.

My bottle and the first one I tried at a tasting. The nose was powerful with apples, caramel, baked bread, orange, and caramel(?). The palate was complexity with lingering acidity.

My bottle and I may have been reaching my limit at this tasting, but I stil found fresh bread dough, almond extract and a very complex palate.

2005 Charles Heidsieck Champagne Brut Millésimé Rosé 93 Points

The nose on this was incredibly deep and rich. Strawberry, apply, yeast. The palate is somewhat leaner but still enveloping, showing tart cherry, chalk and a creamy texture that ends with a lifted finish.

2011 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 94 Points

Not much has changed since I had this a year ago. For a lesser vintage this is no lesser of a Comte that manages to be rich and graceful at the same time. Lemon oil, great acid and minerality. Consistent with previous notes.

This was an odd one. It seems like they're trying too hard? Assertive forceful flavors that don't meld well and end up on the brutish side. But hey, its still champagne.

2006 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut 96 Points

My first thought was that it tastes like Krug. Rich with toasted nuts, white flowers, ginger, vanilla, brioche, figs and minor oxidative notes. I think this was drinking excellent and if it improves further it will be gangbusters.

Drank a small glass over 30 minutes. Very slight toast, white floral notes, apple, pear, chalk, ginger and minerality. This was surprisingly lean although the energy was impressive
