Drunk with Zalto Red Burgundy glasses. Not going too much in terms of palate complexity, but did get better as it sat in the glass so might have potentially benefitted from a decant. Mouthfeel was creamy, but was balanced out nicely because this is a wine where 'energy' is the defining characteristic. Better than NV from most of the big houses, and enough here for me to seek out the vintage stuff.

A really pleasant surprise here, I think that this wine is in a nice spot today. It is absolutely true that there is some oaky characteristics that would still benefit from a year or so more ageing in the cellar (and, to be honest, aren't going to ever fully disappear). Clipped finish and generally short length means this is a wine better served with food than to be enjoyed as a solo attraction. Good QBR, especially by UAE standards (where this was purchased and drunk).

I am not sure what went on with this particular bottle, but this might have been the PYCM that has brought me the least joy to date. Don't get me wrong, we can all wax lyrical about how these wines smell - lots of smoke, lots of oak, and a touch of mineral to keep it all together. However, the palate on this did not match up to what others have said on here about it. The biggest problem, picked up correctly by Thijsv, is that this was a thin wine that went down a little too easily. I love PYCM precisely because they have a great command of structure, this did not. Pear and citrus was there, you won't be sad drinking it, but definitely better expressions out there.

A lot to like about this wine as it drank today. Bottle provenance was great, from an allocation that has stayed with the same owner since release and stored well. Served semi-blind, knew it was one of five bottles but had to guess which.
Not a complex wine, not designed to be. Nose is subtle with the raspberry, definitely a slightly earthy quality to the aromas as well. Palate is where it gets really fun. Berry compote, ripe cherries, and an acidity which reminds you that this wine will still give you five more years of good drinking please. Medium finish to round it all out, this is a triumph given village provenance and the very difficult vintage.

I can see CellarTracker suggests 2027, but that will only really be possible with a long long decant. This was not personally my style of wine. Light brett on the nose, definitely a bit funky. Sour cherries further added to the "natty wine vibes", though any hint of a natural wine was gone as soon as I took the first sip. So intense, really a wine for the alcohol lovers because this is always going to be very very punchy. No finesse, low fruit, and really one where drinking too much of it can dry out the palate somewhat.
A good one to add to the wine knowledge bank, but those who don't own it already would be better served buying elsewhere.

Got very lucky that I was able to have another bottle without breaking into my own stash. This bottle got treated much better and was drunk within two hours, which really was the best here. Notes on the nose are exactly the same as my prior bottle, but the acid integrated almost immediately and ended up producing a tart compliment to the fruity and flowery qualities. This is not the best version of this wine, and yet it is already wonderful. Will be a 96+ if you can wait until the end of the decade. Nobody will blame you if you cannot.

Very floral nose, didn't get reductive personally and I suspect that is because the six months since the last comment have allowed this wine to come together nicely. On the palate you get the focus of the fruit and the fineness of the tannins, a precise drinking experience where wild strawberry really wins out. Don't actually think it will age as well as Thiriet's other reds, would drink before 2029 for the fun, primary material I had today.
Second bottle in recent months, can't say a lot has changed relative to the previous notes except that this bottle was slightly less expressive on the nose than last time. I probably slightly overrated the first bottle, 91 is a more appropriate score with the benefit of hindsight. Still worth enjoying in the short term regardless
