On pouring - this is properly feral. Armpit and slurry. Palate is decent, good acid line, but this will not pass muster with Mrs M. We drank a different wine in its stead - coming back to this a couple of hours later, weirdly the funk had blown off entirely, which I wasn't expecting. If i were to be critical - maybe a little harsh on the finish, but it would be hard for it not to seem harsh after the sublime '11 Peroline. Most of the rest of the bottle we'll save for the next night's haggis...
On the nose, earth, just a whiff of animale perhaps. The palate - oh wow, lovely acid, fruit is still there, a slender tannic structure but more than anything this depth of quiet intensity - a properly fine wine which brought an almost emotional thrill, I'm not going to say tears, but definitely going into the chorus of a beloved song you haven't heard for a while.
