Introduction

what was supposed a promising gathering

Flight 1 (1 Note)

  • 2022 Quinta de Santiago Alvarinho Vinho Verde Vinha do Chapim 91 Points

    Portugal, Minho, Vinho Verde

    pale citrus hue.
medium aromas and flavors intensity, elegant and complex, featuring notes of flint and subtle citrus fruits, with balanced and persistent flavors, expressing freshness with pronounced minerality and salinity.
dry, high acidity, med abv, med body, med length finish.
can drink now - or age few years more.

Flight 2 (1 Note)

  • 2018 Familia Zuccardi Aluvional Paraje Altamira 90 Points

Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, Altamira

a quite promising wine, at least according to few major wine-critics, turned out to be below expectations... perhaps due to short air time, or, more likely due to its young age. Better store 5 years more.

Flight 3 (1 Note)

  • 2013 Shafer Relentless 91 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

it was a good Syrah, but nothing special, nor an excellent wine.
so it was a "good" Syrah.

Flight 5 (1 Note)

Closing

turned out to be a tasting below expectations, mainly due to two too young wines and lack of air time.
