Introduction

Tasting with iconic wines from all over the world. All wines tasted blind, without knowing anything except for the color and that there was only one wine from each region

Flight 1 - Starter (1 Note)

  • NV Bérêche et Fils Champagne Brut Réserve 90 Points

    France, Champagne

Medium intensity on the nose with brioche, chalk, lemon, quite rich. High acidity, medium+ finish. Something sticky in the finish diminished the overall pleasure

    Base year 2020, degorgement 12/‘22. Dosage 6 g/l

  • 2020 Azienda Agricola Valentini Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 93 Points

    Italy, Abruzzi, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

  • 2020 I. et S. Bernaudeau Les Nourrissons 93 Points

    France, Vin de France

[Tasted blind] Called Condrieu (🫣) because of the strong florality (roses, parfume) I haven’t had before with Bernaudeau and the acidity that for my feeling was a tad too low to be Chenin. Medium+ intensity on the nose with already mentioned floral notes, chalk, dried apple, smoke. Medium(+) acidity, long finish

Very interesting bottle, the most surprising of the line-up tonight

    France, Jura, Côtes du Jura

[Tasted blind] Called 10-15 year old white Burgundy. Medium+ intensity on the nose with and oxidative note, cheese, lots of firestone (lovely!), bruised apple. Medium+ acidity, long finish. Palate was leaner and younger than the nose

  • 2017 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne 95 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

[Tasted blind] Called white Tondonia Gran Reserva 2001. Medium+ intensity on the nose with elegant reduction, white peach, white flowers, cream, elegant oak, minerality. Medium+ acidity, long finish.

Great to taste the 2011 and the 2017 in one month. The 2017 is a bit more harmonious, but the palate of 2011 had much more concentration. Both fabulous!

  • 2014 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune 95 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

[Tasted blind] Called Northern Rhone. Initially it showed a lot of ceder and pencil shaving and some coffee which let me to conisder Cabernet Franc, but after a couple of minutes in the glass the signature bacon and dark fruit emerged. Unbelievable depth in the aroma’s, so very very good. Medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, long finish

    My red WOTN

  • 2011 Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve 94 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

[Tasted blind] Called Rayas 🥳. After drinking the 2010 last summer, this wine is so unique that you don’t forget that signature with floral notes, tea, rooibos, red fruit, especially combined with that very light, almost orange, color. Medium acidity, medium tannins, long and lingering finish. Almost sweet on the palate. Alcohol does show a bit (15%). 94-95

    Truly singular wine!

  • 2017 Daniel Twardowski Pinot Noix Ardoise 93 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

[Restaurant purchase] At restaurant Terroir, Utrecht. From magnum, no detailed notes. Drunk next to Guilbert Gillet Savigny-Les-Beaune 1cru Les Peullets 2022. This was beautiful, strawberry, red cherry, some earthiness, little bit of oak spices. Very elegant

  • 2022 Guilbert Gillet Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Peuillets 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru

[Restaurant purchase] At restaurant Terroir, Utrecht. No detailed notes. Drunk next to Twardowski Ardoise 2017. This is a bit more bold, has seriously more oak, not as weightless as the Ardoise. Lovely glass though and strngthened my view that I like his premier cru’s, but that I’m not so impressed with his villages
