Introduction
This was a fun dinner at Shari's condo in Mpls near the river. We had hoped for a group of 8 but 6 of us were able to attend (SL,KB/VB,GA, DE/TE). Shari did the cooking with the group pairing up wines. We had a really fun evening of food and wines. Thanks to Shari for hosting us!
2008 Charles Heidsieck Champagne Brut Millésimé 93 Points
France, Champagne
Light gold color. Drank a glass plus over an hour. Toasty and full bodied, pear, spice, chalk, long. Very good, though I'm expecting more to come, hopefully anyway. 92+ to 93pts.

2018 Lynmar Estate Chardonnay Adam's Vineyard 87 Points

Light-medium gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. I like the nose more than the palate. Oak, buttery, golden honey, woody, golden apple. The palate seem a bit hollow in the middle and is rather bitter at this point. Maybe better earlier? Also was too warm which didn't help.

2015 Domaine Jean Guiton Ladoix 1er Cru La Corvée 90 Points

Medium red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. Some classic Beaune rusticity, mineral dense, iron, sweet cassis and cherry, cured meat, and savory on the nose. The palate is Medium plus bodied, rustic, iron, black cherry, with firm tannins.

2004 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape 94 Points

Medium-dark red color with a 7mm transitional edge. PNP, drank a glass plus over 2 hours. Funk, dried meat, dried red berries, fine tobacco, cassis, garrigue, and hints of blueberry on the nose. The palate is in fine shape too, showing cassis, black raspberries, damp forest floor, dried garrigue, white pepper with a touch of firmness to the tannins yet. Really good, no rush. I've always loved this vintage of Clos des Papes.

2010 Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de mon Aïeul 93 Points

Very dark red plus color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 2 hours. Tar, pencil, anise, blackberry, black cherry, violets, damp earth, more subtle dried herbs on the nose. The palate is full bodied, ripe dark fruits still with restraint, anise, tar, very spicy, black pepper, bold, a hint of vanilla, with round tannins and excellent length. Showing very well. 93+(+) pts.

2011 Quinta do Vesuvio Porto Vintage 95 Points
Portugal, Douro, Porto
Very dark red/purple color. Small glass over 30 minutes. Inky, plum, cassis, blackberry liquer, resonant, soft and wonderfully balanced, very long, menthol, soft silky tannins. This is a beauty.
