Wonderful intensity of fruit here, citrus verging on orchard, with great textural balance. Absolutely no sense of undue heat. Just lacked a bit of resonance versus its bigger brothers, but a lovely wine. There is an NFC chip in the label that I found quite funny. That is a level of security that even de Vogue eschews!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
La Paulee grand tasting. My second time trying this vintage. A rockstar, haunting aromatic purity, incredible sweetness of fruit and a wonderful satiny mouthfeel. Can be enjoyed now, and the greatest young wine I have ever tried.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
La Paulee grand tasting 2025. Appeared reserved, and less fleshy, than other '22 Corton reds tried that day. Formidably structured with very dry tannins. Apparently the particular bottle sampled was not bottled very long ago, per the producer. Demands time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
One of the top whites at the La Paulee grand tasting for me, and not that far off the Roulot. Awesome density of white orchard fruit with a fine bead of acidity. Really refreshing. Did not want to spit.
Very distinctive among the generally quite fleshy '22 reds tried at La Paulee - ethereal, this wine feels almost weightless with its very fine red fruit character complemented by bouncy acidity. Really enjoyed it.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Lovely, and very amicable on the palate with lovely oiliness and orchard fruit, but not quite the level of intensity I desired. But a great wine with an almost resonant finish, and, at the right price, a smart buy.
