  • 2017 Schloss Gobelsburg Riesling 1ÖTW Ried Heiligenstein 95 Points

    Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal

This is beautiful from the PnP till the last drop. Best time after about 4 hours of air. Shining yellow color, yellow and tropical fruits. Very good structure with fruit sugar on the palate. Acidity in good balance with the fruit, nice complexity and tension! Beautiful Austrian Riesling, Kamptal at its best!

  • 2015 Reichsrat Von Buhl Forster Ungeheuer Riesling Großes Gewächs Flawed

    Germany, Pfalz

2nd bottle out of 4. This one was bitter, sharp and not giving anything on nose and palate. Knowing the great expression of fruit last time, this was an off bottle for sure

  • 2012 Dr. Loosen Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Großes Gewächs 93 Points

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

This bottle had a soaked through cork and some sticky cristals had been on top of it. I thought this would be the 3rd bottle of the tasting that could be damaged. But the fruit was present, the acidity still there. No off but maybe a slightly unclean bottle!? Very good though overall

  • 2015 Alzinger Riesling Smaragd Loibenberg 90 Points

    Austria, Niederösterreich, Wachau

This one had better days! Maybe it is in a dumb phase, but some on the table guessed it might be a Grüner Veltliner. Lacking some tension and energy, the acidity has completely integrated. The wine seems tired, flat and uninspired. This is/was a very good wine, but now I'm happy that this was my last bottle (this means, that I drank most of the bottles in their prime time!)

  • 2016 Gerhard Markowitsch Pinot Noir Ried Scheibner 93 Points

    Austria, Niederösterreich, Carnuntum

Give it a few hours of air and it will be shining! Brownish, old looking color. Developed PN-aromas of cranberries, red cherries and some tobacco in the background. Light structured, but with pressure on the palate. Very good!

  • 2020 Florian Weingart Spay In der Zech Spätburgunder trocken 93 Points

    Germany, Mittelrhein

Dark expression in the glass and on the palate. Black cherries, spices, black pepper and some menthol. Very good balance. Give it a few hours of air and don't let it get too warm!

  • 2022 Comando G La Bruja 91 Points

    Spain, Madrid, Vinos de Madrid

Once again it offers what you might expect from a basic Grenache, that is made for the short run. Red fruits, red shining color. Very nice structure, but a little bit one-dimensional to get a higher score. Drink within the next 3-5 years! 91+

  • 2003 Gesellmann Blaufränkisch G 94 Points

    Austria, Burgenland, Mittelburgenland

Very good once again, but at the end of its life. If you have one, drink up now!

  • 2003 Château Léoville Poyferré 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien

WOTN for many of us! Black fruits, complex, very good balance. Smooth tannins, everything is in the right place. Not the loudest wine, but beautiful! Needs 2-3 hours of air to open up!

  • 2004 Château Canon-la-Gaffelière Flawed

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Had this beauty often enough to know, that this was a tight and tannic off bottle!

  • 1996 Château Lafon-Rochet 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Estèphe

Performed well, maybe a little bit more on the closed side than last time. Black fruits, cassis, tobacco. Everything is in its place, but lacking a bit of complexity and expression this time. 91-92

  • 2007 Weingut Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Spätlese 303 95 Points

    Germany, Rheingau

A stunner for the price! Maybe we drank it a little bit too warm this time, but it was beautiful nevertheless. Yellow and tropical fruit aromas. Great balance between residual sugar and acidity. I think it had almost reached its peak but will stay there at least for another 10 years
