I enjoyed this. A simple, clean, very pleasant drop. The nose was quite attractive, with notes of peaches and pineapple alongside a touch of spice and something that reminded me of Hong Kong almond cream. It was smple on the palate, but had a clean, beautifully balanced feel to pure notes of stone fruit lined with a bit of minerality. Nothing to shout about, but this was a pleasant and very food friendly Gavi.
I thought this was a superb young wine. Still way too youthful, and needed a couple of hours in the decanter to get going; but that being done, this was somehow both already enjoyable, yet at the same time bursting with potential for the mid to slighty longer term. Right off the bat, it had a lovely bouquet, with perfumed notes of berries and red cherries, spice and earth, and then lifted hints of vanilla and menthol, all garlanded with a show of blushing violets. Lovely, heady stuff. The palate had a beautiful sense of beautiful balance and great poise about it. While there was a nice spicy depth underlying its flavours of dark cherries and berries, along with deeper tones of dark chocolate and earth, this was married to beautifully integrated acidity and silky tannins that gave the wine an effortless sense of structure and just pitch perfect balance. Lovely finish too - long, fresh, with powdery, earthy tones and a litter of dried flowers lingering on the back-palate. A simply beautiful wine, one of elegance, purity and clarity in spite of its rich, powerful cepage of 65% cabernet sauvignon, 25% cabernet franc and 10% merlot. I would love to try this again in another decade or so.
Almost a decade from the last bottle I tried, and this as developed very nicely. Still a long way to go before it hits it peak of course, but I really liked what we had today. The nose smelt like a mini Lafite, with fragrant notes of plums and violets, tobaaco smoke, sandalwood and violets, all playing against a subtle backdrop of earth and meat. It was a bit simpler on the palate, which still needs time to mature, but I liked how well put together this felt, with a very fresh and lively feel to its cassis, cherry and dark berry flavours seasoned with notes of spice and more of those violets picked up on the nose, all framed within a structure of fine tannins and lively acidity. A very enjoyable Duhart-Milon. The new world tendencies that I noted in its youth have more or less abated, leaving behind a suave, rather elegant wine. Good now, probably better in 6-8 years and beyond.

2019 Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori) Bolgheri Superiore 95 Points

I thought this was a superb young wine.
