$17 is not bad for a St. Joesph but unfortunately this is not a very good wine. Light pepper, mild fruits and earth. Very short and not inspiring finish. Easy pass.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Not a good vintage. Light with burnt toast, raspberries, earth and floral notes. Lacks complexity and 2020 is where it is at with this wine and many other CDPs.
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Ok this was really good and might be better day 2 and 3 but did not have that opportunity. At a local shop for $50 so will have to pick up a few. Floral, funk, forest floor, leather, red currants and dried flowers. Very textbook, Old World in style. 93+
My dislike for these wines will not change. Not sure what they are doing but this wine features smoke, earth, muted fruit and spice. Would have guessed smoke taint 2020 but this is a 2022.
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Who would ever pay $40 for this? So many better from Bordeaux for less. Cherry, oak, vanilla and spice. Very modern and boring wine. Someone gave this 100 points???
Not bad and better than the Pinots at this event today but that is saying nothing. Strawberries, floral, raspberries and earth. Medium finish. Pleasant overall.
I will for sure overlook this wine. Very cheap tasting Pinot and the fact appellation is now California says it all. Sweet fruits, spice and floral notes. Short finish.
John for sure is correct with the 80 annd I anm there ans well. Almost tastes like any Paso Cab at any price point. Sweet fruits, eucalyptus and floral notes. Short finish and lacks acidity. Poorly made wine that I don’t understand why people think this is good.

Italy, Tuscany, Bolgheri, Bolgheri Superiore
Well a few months later and this is much better. Nice fruit, funk, earth, leather and minerals. Pretty tasty wine overall. Never give up.
