  • 2017 Francois Gay Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses

Under DIAM 10. Lime cordial and some slatey minerality on pouring; some hints of lemon pith too. With air a couple of ppm of mango peel greenness. Overall this is correct but understated compared with previous bottles. Palate is fresh and long (can taste 30s after swallowing). There is more minerality and as it gains weight with air; some grapefruit pith and some lime oil intensity.

  • 2005 Château Cantemerle 89 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc

Flash double decanted 4 hours before service. Deep crimson with a Rooibos tea, plum fruit and smoky nose. Air sees some earth, a little bresaola meatiness and some sliced mushroom complexity develop. Just a hint of marron glacé sweetness with half an hour in the glass.

  • 2018 Domaine de Montesquiou Jurançon Grappe d'Or 87 Points

    France, Southwest France, Jurançon

Mango, lemon posset creaminess / tartness / citrus edge. Some papaya, spearmint and pineapple stalk greenness as well. With air some hints of grated white chocolate appear and some some bitter orange marmalade. Palate walks the fine line between sweet fruits and and bitterness. Recall this being a wine with powerful lime acids and richness; the fruit seems to have faded leaving only the bitter almond silhouette.
