2007 Rieslings

I generally look forward to tastings at Dee Vine, San Francisco's premier spot for tasting German Rieslings. This was my first installment tasting of the great '07 German Riesling vintage. I was particularly impressed by the Prinz, Schmitges, von Beulwitz and Fritz Haag Auslese/Beerenauslese wines. My WOTD was the '94 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnehuhr Riesling Beerenauslese, followed by the '07 Erben von Beulwitz Kaseler Nies'chen Auslese Alte Reben.

Both were good, but I particularly enjoyed the '01 Solter Sekt. Delicious on its own, but also a good food wine.

A good sampling of a very good year. Young, but very tasty wines.

I particularly loved the '94 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Beerenauslese, but all three were good wines.
