Plenty of seeet Apple and baked apple with very good weight, nicely spices. I slightly preferred Tillets on next glass, but both were so charming for near term enjoyment.
Wonderfully rich and wonderfully tasty, fully mature. Alongside 2103 Meix Chavaux that was so similar, just less complete. Plent of baked apple and caramel apple here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Ripe and exotic while also all-so-classic. Orchard fruit dominates with some tropical hints, but easily restrained by its obvious structural integrity. So much here, all with so much classical styling. Very Impressive for the vintage.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Floral and spiced aromatic start with lemon, apple and some candied citrus peel, all very harmonious on nose and palate. Lots here, good balance, maybe still a touch of new oak that needs to integrate more. Upside from here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Sweet baking spice and ripe red cherry aromas with a hint of earth. Everything follows through nicely on the palate with good depth. Slightly dominated by pronounced whole cluster.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Red cherry and berry with a fair amount of earth. Very good balance and good weight, maybe not quite as much as typical for this wine in the best vintages. Much better than the previous time tasted in 2021.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Plenty of red cherry with savory spice, roasted meat, and black pepper, all nicely unfolding and well layered. The 2nd bottle opened from a case bought around release, this was much better than the first, opened in 2021.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Black and red cherry with intense spice that manages to come across as both opulently rich and perfectly balanced at the same time. Just a baby. First from a 6-pack bought on release.

2022 Domaine Jobard-Morey Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Floral start with poached pear aromas and flavors, rich and fleshy with enough brightening energy on longish finish.

1999 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Riserva Monfortino 96 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Fresh and dried red cherry with so much savory spice, such delicate layering, and a complex, long finish. Really great now with further upside.

Lots here, but I didn't find it well balanced tonight. I've enjoyed this wine much more in the past, and others liked it more than I did tonight.

Black and red cherry with good enough weight, lots of interesting spice notes, but slightly lacking the depth I want from Giacosa. Good now.
