This pours light ruby in the glass, no bricking. The nose is lovely on first opening, but it really signing with air to show bright cherry, pomegranate, peppery basil, green tobacco leaf, crushed rocky soil, a touch of nutty oak, fresh ginger, and a whisp of fresh mushroom. The palate enters on the vibrant cherry fruit with silky medium minus tannin and medium plus acid, cutting across the palate. The finish is nicely complex replaying just a touch of the savory green notes, nicely balanced against the fruit. What a stunning bottle offering some great early drinking.

This wine pours medium to light ruby in the glass with minimal bricking. The nose is quite tight over the hour this is followed. While there aren't any overt TCA notes, the muted nature of the nose leaves an open question about whether this is corked. The palate initially opens on the bright fruit with again becomes a little clipped on the finish. Leaving this not rated as I think it's possible this bottle isn't representative.

This pours light garnet in the glass, with heavy bricking. The nose shows dried lemon peel, dried ginger, dried strawberry, rusty iron, and a touch of broth. The palate shows a mix of some citrus and red fruit but unfortunately is tinged with the rusty iron. In the end unfortunately this bottle was a far cry from the one opened last year, despite them coming from the same source. Alas bottle variation!
