Quite an aromatic wine with some complexity. Ripe stone fruits, grapefruits and honey on the nose. The oak is there to balance the acidity and round up the wine, and it adds some sweet vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is quite dry and refreshing, the 13.5% is well-integrated.
This was quite possibly the wine of the night for me, personally. The wine quite complex and aromatic on the nose: lots of fresh herbs, white flowers but also ripe fruits and some honey. Some age in the bottle has done wonders for this wine! The palate seems a bit more restrained than the nose at first, but it grows and lingers on, it has a really pleasant fruity and mineral aftertaste.
Over 60 year old vines at high altitude (600m), a field blend. Wine goes through malolactic fermentation and 12 months of aging in Austrian oak. There is also a bit of residual sugar.
Quite an energetic wine with plenty of berries, forest fruits and some complexity from bottle aging. While it's a fresh and a relatively light wine on the palate, it still has the structure and the tannins are intact to give the wine some additional boost.
Such an elegant wine, that is simply a pleasure to drink! Despite 10 years of age in the bottle, the fruit is still intact. Fresh, crunchy strawberries, some spice and a great length.
